AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO. 954, KNOWN AS THE ZONING ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR CHANGES IN ZONING BOUNDARIES AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of Jonesboro, Arkansas:   

 

SECTION 1: Ordinance No. 954 known as the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, be amended as recommended by the Metropolitan Area Planning Commission by the changes in zoning classification as follows:

 

From R-1 to C-3 the following described property:

 

LEGAL DESCRIPTION - TRACT 1

A part of the Northwest Quarter of the Northeast Quarter of Section 10, Township 14 North, Range 4 East, Craighead Co., Arkansas to wit: 

 

From the Northwest Corner of said Northwest Quarter of the Northeast Quarter of said Section 10, run S 00°07'48" E along the centerline of Pleasant Grove Road, a distance of 763.36 ft. to a point; thence leaving said Road centerline; thence N 57°41'47" E, a distance of 531.43 ft. to a point; thence S 32°23'43" W, a distance of 110.00 ft. to a point; said point being the point of beginning; thence N 57°41'47" E, a distance of 579.91 ft. to a point; thence S 31°47'27" E, a distance of 300.01 ft. to a point on the Northerly Right-of-Way line of Hwy. 49; thence S 57°41'47" W, along said Hwy. Right-of-Way line, a distance of 576.75 ft. to a point; thence N 32°23'43" W, a distance of 300.00 ft. to a point; said point being the point of beginning, containing 3.98 acres.

 

SECTION 2: It is found and declared by the City Council that the proper use of the tract(s) of land described above in this Ordinance is being delayed because of improper zoning, and that therefore, an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this Ordinance, being necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health and safety, shall take effect and be in full force from and after its passage and approval.
