A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE JONESBORO MUNICIPAL AIRPORT COMMISSION TO ACCEPT A FEDERAL AVIATION ADMINISTRATION GRANT

Whereas, the Jonesboro City Council understands the important aviation plays in the local economy and industrial recruitment efforts; and
Whereas, the Jonesboro Municipal Airport Commission has been awarded a grant in the amount of $1,755,316.00 for the purpose of acquiring aircraft rescue and firefighting vehicle; to construct an aircraft rescue and firefighting building; and to install guidance signs; and
Whereas, the State of Arkansas has provided the local match requirement of $92,385; and
Whereas, the City of Jonesboro, as the governing body over the Jonesboro Municipal Airport Commission must accept the grant offer;
Now therefore be it resolved, that the Mayor and City Clerk of Jonesboro, Arkansas are hereby authorized to execute the grant acceptance agreement from the Federal Aviation Administration for grant 3-05-0031-013-2005 and to submit any and all documentation as set forth by the FAA.
