AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND CHAPTER 11.04, BUILDING IN GENERAL; SECTION 11.04.04, SAME - AMENDMENTS, OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF JONESBORO, ARKANSAS.

BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas:
SECTION 1: That Section 11.04.04 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, is hereby amended to include the following amendment to the Building Code of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas.
SECTION 2: Section 102.04 of the Building Code as adopted is hereby amended to read as follows:
(f) All buildings or structures which are unsafe, unsanitary, or do not provide adequate egress, or which constitute a fire hazard, or are otherwise dangerous to human life, or which in relation to existing use, constitute a hazard to safety or health, are considered unsafe buildings. All such unsafe buildings are hereby declared a nuisance and shall be abated by repair and rehabilitation of by demolition in accordance with the provisions of Chapter11.32, Code of Ordinances, City of Jonesboro, Arkansas.
SECTION 3: All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed.
SECTION 4: Emergency Clause. Due to the need to eliminate conflict between adopted codes and City ordinances this ordinance is necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health and safety, an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this ordinance shall take effect and be in full force from and after its passage and approved.
