A RESOLUTION EXPRESSING THE WILLINGNESS OF THE CITY OF JONESBORO TO PARTICIPATE IN THE CITY BRIDGE LOAD POSTING PROGRAM

WHEREAS, the City of Jonesboro understands Federal-Aid Bridge Replacement and Rehabilitation funds are available for posting structures that are restricted by weight; and

WHEREAS, it is understood that such bridge posting is mandated by Federal regulations to insure public safety;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, THAT:

SECTION 1: The City of Jonesboro will participate in accordance with its designated responsibility in this project.

SECTION 2: the Mayor is hereby authorized and directed to execute all appropriate agreements and contracts necessary to properly erect the signs at bridges eligible for participation under this program.

SECTION 3: The City of Jonesboro pledges its full support and hereby authorizes the Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department to initiate action to implement this program.
