AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND CHAPTER 11.04, BUILDING AND CONSTRUCTION, SECTION 11.04.04, SAME AMENDMENTS, OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF JONESBORO, ARKANSAS, BY ADOPTING CERTAIN PROVISIONS OF APPENDIX A OF THE SOUTHERN BUILDING CODE AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas:

 

SECTION 1:   That Chapter 11.04, Buildings and Construction, Section 11.04.04, Same Amendments, of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, is hereby amended to read as follows:

 

11.04.04   Same - Amendments.

(A)  Only the following  Sections of  Appendix  A  of the Standard Building Code, 1988 Edition,  are hereby adopted,  and  all other  Sections of Appendix  A  and  Appendix  B  through Appendix  R  of the Standard Building Code, 1988 Edition, are specifically excluded and are not adopted  by  this  Chapter.

(1) Sections A103.2, A103.3.2, A103.4 (except A103.4.4), A103.6 (except the remainder of A103.6.1 beginning with the words “Every permit issued” and A103.6.3), and A103.8.6 - A103.8.9.

 

SECTION 2:   If for any reason, any portion of this Ordinance is held to be invalid, such invalidity shall in no way affect the remaining portions therefore which are valid, but such valid portions shall remain in full force and effect.     

 

SECTION 3:   It is found and declared by the City Council that an emergency exists and this Ordinance being necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health and safety, it shall take effect from and after its passage and approval.
