ORDINANCE TO SET THE SALARY FOR THE ALDERMAN OF THE CITY OF JONESBORO, ARKANSAS

BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of Jonesboro, Arkansas:
Section 1: That, the salary of the Aldermen of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas is hereby fixed at $25.00 for each regular meeting of the City Council attended by said Alderman, beginning with the 1st meeting in January, 1967.
Section 2: That, all ordinances and laws and parts of ordinances and laws in conflict herewith are hereby repealed.
Section 3: It is found and declared by the City Council that the cost of living has risen since the last time said salary was adjusted and that the work and expenses of the Aldermen have greatly increased since the last adjustment of salary; and that the public interest and welfare requires an increase in said salary immediately; that the efficient administration of justice requires that this Ordinance should be immediately effective; an emergency is therefore found and declared to exist and this Ordinance being necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health and welfare, this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and approval.
