A RESOLUTION TO APPROVE OFFER AND ACCEPTANCE FOR THE PURCHASE OF 3800 RACE STREET

Body

WHEREAS, The City of Jonesboro is in need of an easement along Turtle Creek for the development of the Turtle Creek Greenway and for the maintenance of the creek.

WHEREAS, the City's ownership of Lot 7, Block C of Keich, Earl 2^nd Addition would provide the City of Jonesboro the easements needed; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Glen Talley owns Lot 7, Block C of Keich, Earl 2^nd Addition more commonly known as 3800 Race Street and;

WHEREAS, an offer and acceptance has been made by the City of Jonesboro to purchase said property for the price of $10,000; and

WHEREAS, these funds are considered partial project development cost for Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) 2006 approved Greenway Project and will be applied to said project account #10-888-0500-80;

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL FOR THE CITY OF JONESBORO, ARKANSAS THAT:

Section 1: the City of Jonesboro approves the offer and acceptance to purchase Lot 7, Block C of Keich, Earl 2^nd Addition from Mr. Glen Talley for the price of $10,000.

Section 2: The Mayor, Doug Formon and City Clerk, Donna Jackson are hereby authorized by the City Council for the City of Jonesboro to execute all documents necessary to effectuate this agreement.
