AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO.954 PROVIDING FOR CHANGE IN ZONING DISTRICT BOUNDARIES

BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas:

Section 1: That Ordinance No.954 known as the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Jonesboro be amended as recommended by the City Planning Commission by the change of Zoning District Boundaries as follows:

From Residential (R-1) to Commercial (C-3) of an area described as Lot 11 and the South 115.6 feet of Lot 8 of Cobb & Lee’s Survey located in the Northwest Corner of Section 21, Township 14 North, Range 4 East being approximately 3.5 acres lying on the East side of Caraway Road beginning 737 feet North of the intersection of East Nettleton Avenue (Highway No.63) and Caraway Road and continuing North 371.16 feet and being 395 feet deep.

Section 2: It is found and declared by the City Council that proper use of the tract of land described in this Ordinance is being delayed because of improper zoning and that, therefore, an emergency exists and this Ordinance being necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health and safety, it shall take effect from and after its passage and approval.
