AN ORDINANCE TO WAIVE COMPETITIVE BIDDING AND AUTHORIZE PURCHASE OF A 1983 GMC TRUCK CONTAINING A 30,000 POUND ROLL-OFF HOIST WITH TWO (2) OPEN-TOP CONTAINERS FOR THE JONESBORO SANITATION DEPARTMENT

BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas:
SECTION 1: That Jonesboro Sanitation Department is in need of purchasing the 1983 GMC Truck with hoist and two (2) open-top containers for the purpose of moving compost materials.
SECTION 2: That the above mentioned equipment is to be purchased from the Bucy Equipment Company, Inc. for the amount of $15,000.00.
SECTION 3: That the City Council in accord with the terms of A.C.A. 14-58-302 (2B) hereby waive the requirement of competitive bidding and direct the Purchasing Officer to purchase the above described equipment for the price set forth above. Said amount shall be paid from the Sanitation Budget.
SECTION 4: It is further found that due to the immediate need to acquire the above equipment, an emergency is declared to exist and this ordinance being necessary for the preservation of the Public peace, health and safety shall take effect from and after its passage and approval.
