RESOLUTION TO SET A PUBLIC HEARING TO ABANDON A DRAINAGE AND UTILITY EASEMENT AS REQUESTED BY THE CHAMBER OF COMMERCE

WHEREAS, the property owners have filed a petition with the City Clerk of Jonesboro, Arkansas, requesting that abandoned portions of a
Forty Foot (40') drainage and utility easement beginning at the northwest corner northwest quarter of the Northeast Quarter Section 29, Township 14 North - Range 5 East Craighead County, Arkansas; Thence S01°36'27"E - 98.03' to the Point of Beginning proper; Thence N87°10'28"E - 40.01'; Thence S01°36'27"E 1210.66'; Thence S01°35'34"E - 492.29'; Thence S87°13'43"W - 40.01; Thence N01°35'34"W - 493.11';Thence N01°36'27"W - 1209.81' to the Point of Beginning proper containing 1.56 acres more or less AND
WHEREAS, the petition has been presented to the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas; AND
WHEREAS, Arkansas Statute Annotated 19-3814 requires two week public notice before the above utility easement can be vacated and abandoned;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, that the City Clerk is directed to publish a notice once a week for two consecutive weeks advising the public of the request by the property owner to vacate and abandon the unimproved portion of said utility easement and this matter will be heard before the City Council on July 2, 2001 at 6:00 p.m. at City Council Chambers, 900 W. Monroe, Jonesboro, Arkansas.
