BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas:    

 

SECTION 1: Ordinance No. 954 known as the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, be amended as recommended by the Metropolitan Area Planning Commission by the changes in zoning classifications as follows:

 

From Commercial (C-3) To Residential (R-1) the following described property.

 

LEGAL DESCRIPTION

 

A part of the Northwest Quarter of the Southwest Quarter of Section 25, Township 14 North, Range 3 East, Craighead County, Arkansas to wit:  From the Northwest Corner of said Northwest Quarter Southwest Quarter Run South 51°51'13" East 308.25 feet;  then run South 38°12'00" West 295.00 feet; then run South 01°21'00" West 216.19 feet to the point of beginning; then run North 89°23'55" East 267.12 feet; then run North 23°58'30" East 36.92 feet; then run South 66°01'31" East 60.00 feet; then run South 74°46'17" East 201.16 feet; then run South 12°17'43" East 95.73 feet to the North Right Of Way Line of Carolyn Drive; then run South 89°23'55" West along said North Right-Of-Way line 602.34 feet; then leaving said North Right-Of-Way line run North 43°19'00" East 71.14 feet; then run North 01°21'00" East 88.81 feet to the point of beginning, containing 1.71 acres.

 

SECTION 2: It is found and declared by the City Council that the proper use of the tract (tracts) of land described above in this Ordinance is being delayed because of improper zoning, and that therefore, an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this Ordinance, being necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health and safety, shall take effect and be in full force from and after its passage and approval.
