ORDINANCE TO WAIVE BIDDING REQUIREMENTS FOR REPAIRS TO THE STAGE FLOOR AT THE FORUM

BE IT ENACTED by the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, an ordinance to waive bidding requirements:
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City Jonesboro has declared that the stage floor at the Forum is in need of immediate repair to insure safety, and necessary repairs and pending for the repair of the stage flowing at the Forum.
WHEREAS, because the City has received an estimate of the approximate cost of $4,409.27. Therefore, it will be necessary for the City Council to waive the ordinance pertaining to formal bids.
NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas:
Section 1: Section 2-3.3 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, should be waived to permit the City purchasing agent to let this repair contract to purchase supplies using normal informal procedures.
Section 2: Due to the urgency of such repairs being completed, an emergency is therefore declared and this ordinance being necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health and safety shall be in full force and effects from and after its passage and approval.
