Nominating and Rules Committee
December 15, 2003

The meeting was called to order at 5:00 p.m. by Alderman McCall. Members present were: Aldermen Tim McCall, Alec Farmer, and Cecil Province. Councilman Moore was unable to attend. Others in attendance were Mayor Brodell and City Clerk Donna Jackson.
SUSPENSION OF THE RULES - HOUGHTON STREET CLOSING
Councilman Farmer moved, seconded by Councilman Province to suspend the rules and place a resolution setting a public hearing for January 5, 2004 at 6:10 p.m. on the agenda under new business. The resolution had been submitted by Jonesboro Real Estate Holdings Company for the abandonment of Houghton Street. All voted aye.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Councilman Farmer moved, seconded by Councilman Province for the approval of the minutes for November 17, 2003 as read. All voted aye.
RULES AND PROCEDURES
Discussion was held regarding the procedure for placing items on the agenda and the 2004 committee assignments. Members were asked to review the material with the understanding that the full council would be involved in the process.
ADJOURNMENT
Councilman Farmer moved, seconded by Councilman Moore for adjournment. All voted aye.
