AN ORDINANCE TO PREVENT AND PROHIBIT THE PARKING UPON A CERTAIN STREET IN THE CITY OF JONESBORO; PROVIDING A PENALTY THEREFORE, AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES

BE IT ORDAINED AND ENACTED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas:

 

Section 1: Hereafter it shall be unlawful to park any motor vehicle or other vehicle of any kind or character along or upon the North side of that street in the City of Jonesboro located and described as being immediately South of Cotton Belt Railroad tracts and running East from Main Street for the entire distance of said street, same being Fordyce Street.

 

Section 2: The Chief of Police or some person designated by him shall place and locate signs upon which shall be written “NO PARKING” at the above described places, and it shall be unlawful for any person to tear down, remove or destroy said signs.

 

Section 3: Any person, firm or corporation violating this ordinance shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction shall be fined in any sum not exceeding $25.00.

 

PASSED and ADOPTED this 7th day of March, 1960.
