AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND TITLE 14 KNOWN AS THE ZONING ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE CHANGE IN ZONING BOUNDARIES.

BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas:
SECTION 1: That Title 14 known as the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Jonesboro be amended by the change in zoning district boundaries as follows:
From Residential (R-2) to Commercial (C-1) Downtown Core Commercial District of property described as: All of Lots 1 and 2, Block 5 and the North half of an abandoned alley adjacent to and along the South line of said Lots 1 and 2, Block 5, all being in Broadaway Addition to the City of Jonesboro, Craighead County, Arkansas, as recorded in the Circuit Clerk’s office for the Western District of Craighead County, Arkansas, located in Jonesboro, Arkansas, containing some 23,134 sq. ft. (0.53 acres), more or less, subject to all easements, restrictions, reservations and rights of way of record.
SECTION 2: It is found and declared by the City Council that proper use of the tract of land described in this Ordinance is being delayed because of improper zoning and that, therefore, an emergency exists and this Ordinance being necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health and safety, it shall take effect from and after its passage and approval.
