CITY COUNCIL MINUTES - SEPTEMBER 20, 2004

The Jonesboro City Council met Monday, September, 20 2004, at 6:30 p.m. A full quorum was in attendance. Present were: Mayor Brodell, City Clerk, Donna K. Jackson, City Attorney Phillip Crego and eleven council members. Those members were: Farmer, Hargis, Moore, Williams, Young, Perrin, Street, Dover, Furr, McCall and Roddy. Councilman Province was unable to attend.

Councilman Moore moved, seconded by Councilman Street to approve the minutes of September 7, 2004, as provided. A voice vote was taken resulting in all members voting aye. Those members were: Farmer, Hargis, Moore, Williams, Young, Perrin, Street, Dover, Furr, McCall and Roddy.

Councilman Perrin offered the following ordinance for first reading:

ORDINANCE TO REZONE PROPERTY FROM RESIDENTIAL (R-1) TO COMMERCIAL (C-3), LOCATED APPROXIMATELY ¼ MILE NORTH OF JOHNSON AVENUE AND ¼ MILE WEST OF BRIDGER ROAD. (ANITA ARNOLD)

Councilman Perrin moved, seconded by Councilman Farmer to suspend with the second reading. A voice vote was taken resulting in all members voting aye. Those members were: Farmer, Province, Hargis, Moore, Williams, Young, Perrin, Street, Dover, Furr, McCall and Roddy. No further action was taken.

Councilman Perrin offered the following ordinance for first reading:

ORDINANCE APPROVING THE PURCHASE OF AN EXCAVATOR FOR THE STREET DEPARTMENT, APPROPRIATING FUNDS, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY

Councilman Moore moved, seconded by Councilman Street to suspend with the second and third readings. A voice vote was taken resulting in all members voting aye. Those members were: Farmer, Province, Hargis, Moore, Williams, Young, Perrin, Street, Dover, Furr, McCall and Roddy. Councilman Perrin moved, seconded by Councilman Dover for the adoption of the ordinance. All voted aye.
