AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO. 954, KNOWN AS THE ZONING ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR CHANGES IN ZONING BOUNDARIES AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES

BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of Jonesboro, Arkansas:    

 

SECTION 1: Ordinance No. 954 known as the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, be amended as Recommended by the Metropolitan Area Planning Commission by the changes in zoning classification as follows:

 

From Residential (R-1) to Industrial (I-2) the following described property:

                                          

TRACT 1:

Part of the NE 1/4 of the NW 1/4 of Section 32, T14N R5E, more particularly described as follows: Commence at the NE corner of the NE 1/4 of the NW 1/4 of said Section 32, thence S. 1° 34'51" E 80. 00 feet to the point of beginning: Thence continue S. 1°34'51" E. 1233. 81 feet; Thence S 87°11'7" W. 1279.2 feet; Thence N 1°28'17" W. 912.12 feet; Thence N 87°28'0" E. 214.15 feet; Thence N. 1°33'0" W. 322.5 feet, Thence N. 87°10'12" E. 1064.19 feet to the point of beginning, containing 34.62 acres.

                     

TRACT 2:

Part of the NW 1/4 of the NW 1/4 of Section 32, T14N R5E, more particularly described as follows: Commence at the NW corner of the NW 1/4 of the NW 1/4 of said Section 32, thence S1°21'7" E 233.0 to the point of beginning; Thence N 87°10'12" E 186.5 feet; Thence N1°21'7" W 153.0 feet; Thence N 87°10'12" E.  1090.13 feet; Thence S 1° 28'17" E. 1233.49 feet; Thence S. 87° 11' 7" W. 1279.2 feet; Thence N. 1°21'7" W. 1080.23 feet to the point of beginning, containing 35.52 acres.

 

SECTION 2:  It is found and declared by the City Council that the proper use of the tract(s) of land described above in this Ordinance is being delayed because of improper zoning, and that therefore, an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this Ordinance, being necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health and safety, shall take effect and be in full force from and after its passage and approval.
