AN ORDINANCE TO DESIGNATE CERTAIN PARTS OF WOODROW AND FORREST STREETS AS ‘NO PARKING’ AREAS AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES

BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas:

 

Section 1: From and after passage and adoption of this Ordinance, parts of Woodrow and Forrest Streets as set forth herein shall be designated as “NO PARKING” areas, to-wit:

 

A. No parking on either side of Woodrow Street between Main and Culberhouse.

B. No parking on either side of Forrest Street between Main and Culberhouse.

 

Section 2: The Chief of Police or some other person designated by him is hereby directed to place and locate upon the above described streets at the proper places, appropriate signs reading “No Parking” and it is unlawful for any person, firm, or corporation to tear down or mutilate such signs or to park vehicles in those “No Parking” areas.

 

Section 3: Every person convicted of a violation of any of the provisions of this Ordinance shall be punished by a fine of not more than $25.00.

 

Section 4: All Ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed.

 

Section 5: It is found and declared by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas that this Ordinance being necessary for removal of traffic congestion, and that therefore, an emergency is declared to exist and this Ordinance being necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health and safety this Ordinance shall take effect from and after its passage and approval.

 

PASSED and ADOPTED this 1st day of March, 1976.
