RESOLUTION TO REQUEST RECOMMENDATIONS FROM THE INDUSTRIAL LIASION COMMITTEE

WHEREAS, desirable sites for the location of industry in and near Jonesboro is recognized as important for the benefit of the City and all citizens; and the Legislature of Arkansas, State agencies, and local organizations have endorsed the principal of cities making provisions for employment of their citizens; and
WHEREAS, the electors of Jonesboro have hereto fore approved $200,000.00 in Revenue Bonds to be issued for purpose of aiding location of industry, and the Council is authorized by approval of the electors, under the provisions of Act 9, to issue bonds for the purpose of procuring sites for industries;
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Industrial Liaison Committee of the Council forthwith confer with officers of Jonesboro Industrial Corporation and with the Industrial Committee of the Jonesboro Chamber of Commerce and make recommendations to the council at the next meeting concerning sites that may be properly located and acquired and method of financing such acquisition, including the possible use of the bonding capacity heretofore approved by the citizens of Jonesboro, and further that the Industrial Liaison Committee be authorized to continue working with the aforementioned organizations and any other organization concerned with industrial progress, and make reports to the City Council when necessary.
