A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL FOR THE CITY OF JONESBORO TO EXTEND THE CONTRACT WITH FTN ASSOCIATES, LTD FOR CONTINUING ENVIRIONMENTAL SERVICES RELATED TO LANDFILL GAS MIGRATION AT THE CITY LANDFILL

WHEREAS, FTN Associates, LTD entered into a contract with the City of Jonesboro in July, 2005 to provide engineering services related to landfill gas migration into the public works buildings and the city's landfill; and
WHEREAS, the City of Jonesboro has determined that there is a need to further document the impacts to the city's facilities and to determine if landfill gas is migrating to neighboring properties; and
WHEREAS, the Arkansas Department of Environmental Quality on September 20, 2005 agreed to allow the City to continue to monitor the site for an additional 60 days from August 11, 2005; and
WHEREAS, FTN Associates, LTD has agreed to provide such basic services at a cost of $12,500.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas that:
Section 1. The Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized to enter into a contract with FTN Associates, LTD to continue to provide environmental consulting services to monitor the landfill gas migration for an additional 60 days.
