RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CREATION OF THE JONESBORO HANDICAPPED ASSISTANCE COMMITTEE

BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, that

WHEREAS, there are numerous local providers of information and services relative to programs available to handicapped individuals in the Jonesboro area in the areas of housing, transportation, home care, and state/local government services, and

WHEREAS, a need exists for coordination of communication between such providers and handicapped persons and to develop community and governmental awareness of handicapped needs and services, prevent costly duplication of services and to recommend policies and programs to governmental and providers of services to the handicapped;

NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas that the Council hereby authorizes the creation of the Jonesboro handicapped assistance committee.
