AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND THE 2013 ANNUAL BUDGET KNOWN AS ORDINANCE NUMBER O-EN-049-2012 FOR THE PURPOSE OF ADDING THREE (3) POLICE OFFICERS AND FOR THE APPROPRIATION OF FUNDS FROM THE GENERAL FUND TO THE POLICE DEPARTMENT; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY FOR THE CONTINUITY OF SERVICES IN THE POLICE DEPARTMENT

WHEREAS, the Jonesboro City Council adopted the 2013 annual budget, Ordinance Number O-EN-049-2012; and
WHEREAS, it is recommended by the Finance Committee, to ensure sufficient staffing in the Police Department, that three (3) Police Officer positions be added at grade 112 and appropriate $44,000 from the General Fund to the Police Department for such positions;
BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council for the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas that:
SECTION ONE: The three (3) Police Officer positions shall be added to the 2013 annual budget; and
SECTION TWO: That $44,000.00 is appropriated for such positions from the General Fund to the Police Department; and
SECTION THREE: It is further found and declared that an emergency is declared to exist and this ordinance being necessary for the sufficient staffing in the Police Department and shall take effect from and after its approval.
