CITY COUNCIL MINUTES NOVEMBER 1, 1982

The Jonesboro City Council met in regular session, Monday, November l, 1982, at 7:30 P.M. Present: Mayor, City Attorney, City Clerk and all aldermen.

The minutes of October 18, 1982, were approved as mailed on motion by Mr. Park, second by Mr. Stricklin.

Mr. Johnson offered the following ordinance:

AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING AND PROVIDING FOR THE ISSUANCE UNDER THE MUNICIPALITIES AND COUNTIES INDUSTRIAL DEVELOPMENT REVENUE BOND LAW, ACTS 1960 (EX. SESS.) NO.9, BY THE CITY OF JONESBORO, ARKANSAS, OF ITS INDUSTRIAL DEVELOPMENT REVENUE BONDS (ANHEUSER-BUSCH COMPANIES, INC. PROJECT) SERIES 1982, FOR THE PURPOSES OF FINANCING CERTAIN INDUSTRIAL FACILITIES; AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION AND DELIVERY BY THE CITY OF JONESBORO, ARKANSAS OF A LOAN AGREEMENT, INDENTURE OF TRUST, BOND PURCHASE AGREEMENT, INDENTURE OF TRUST, BOND PURCHASE AGREEMENT, OFFICIAL STATEMENT AND SUCH BONDS IN CONNECTION THEREWITH; DECLARING AN EMERGENCY AND AUTHORIZING OTHER ACTIONS IN CONNECTION THEREWITH

Mrs. Henry Metzler addressed council concerning the building of apartments on Cherry Street. She expressed concern for safety of school children and drainage. Mr. Stephen Reasoner, representing the property development also addressed council. He was informed by Mr. Cameron that, three stipulations must be met before the building permit can be issued, and advised him to reappear at the November 11 Planning Commission meeting.

The following bids were reviewed for sale of sued vehicles (attached).

Mr. Sanderson moved that the high bid be approved, seconded by Mr. Smith, all aye.

The following ordinance was on 3rd reading:

AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR CERTAIN TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES; TO PROVIDE PENALTIES FOR VIOLATIONS THEREOF AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES

Mr. Hannah moved that the ordinance be amended by deleting subsections A & B which deal with traffic control, at Cole and Thomas Streets. Motion s...
