A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL FOR THE CITY OF JONESBORO AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT WITH THE JONESBORO CHAPTER #26--DISABLED AMERICAN VETERANS

WHEREAS, it is the desire of the City of Jonesboro to support various organizations, boards and commissions throughout the city with annual appropriations through the Outside Agencies Budget; and

WHEREAS, the Jonesboro Chapter #26, Disabled American Veterans has requested funding in the amount of $5,000 from the Outside Agencies Budget for activities related to transporting needy and eligible veterans in Jonesboro to and from Department of Veterans Affairs Medical facilities in Memphis, Tennessee and Little Rock and North Little Rock, Arkansas; and

WHEREAS, funding is appropriated in the 2007 Budget for Outside Agencies.

NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas that:

The Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized to execute and accept such documents as are necessary to effectuate this agreement.
