AN ORDINANCE WAIVING THE COMPETITIVE BIDDING REQUIREMENTS FOR COMPLETION OF THE DOWNTOWN PARK AREA

BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas.

Section 1: Whereas certain bids have been levied for completion of the Downtown Park Area and none submitted were within the budget of said project, the city council considers this is a unique and unusual situation where the competitive bidding should be and is hereby waived.

Section 2: A committee consisting of the City Engineer, Ralph Stricklin, Bill Bowers, Athel Williams and Eric Rogers, Jr. shall oversee the project and complete said project within the allotted funds.

Section 3: It is found and declared by the City Council that this ordinance being necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health and safety, an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this ordinance shall take effect from and after its passage and approval.
