AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO. 2208, FOR CLARIFICATION OF THE DESCRIPTION FOR VACATING AND ABANDONMENT OF A PORTION OF HIGHLAND DRIVE BETWEEN CRESTVIEW STREET AND BROOKHAVEN ROAD.

BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas.
SECTION 1: That Ordinance No. 2208 is hereby amended to read as follows: The City of Jonesboro, Arkansas hereby releases, vacates, and abandons all of its rights, together with the rights of the public generally, in and to the street designated as follows: That portion of West Highland Drive beginning at the east property line of Lot 2 of Brookhaven 1st Addition and proceeding west to the eastern right of way line of Brookhaven Road.
SECTION 2: If for any reason portion of this ordinance is held to be invalid, such invalidity shall in no way affect the remaining portions thereof which are valid, but such valid portions shall remain in full force and effect.
SECTION 3: It is found and declared by the City Council that an emergency exists and this ordinance, being necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health, and safety, shall take effect from and after its passage and approval.
