AN ORDINANCE DESIGNATING A BUS PARKING ONLY FROM 7:00 A.M. TO 8:30 A.M. AND FROM 2:00 P.M. TO 3:00 P.M. ON SCHOOL DAYS ONLY, IN FRONT OF MACARTHUR MIDDLE SCHOOL AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES

BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas:
Section 1: From and after the passage of this ordinance, there shall be placed in appropriate places, signs designating “Parking for Buses Only” from 7:00 A.M. to 8:30 A.M. and 2:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M. on school days only, in front of MacArthur Middle School. This bus parking zone shall extend from the west intersection of the service drive with Wilkins Street for a distance of 192 feet.
Section 2: The Chief of Police or some person designated by him is directed to place and locate upon the above described location appropriate signs at the appropriate places with the appropriate designation as set out above and it shall be unlawful for any person, firm, or corporation to tear down, remove or mutilate such signs
Section 3: Every person convicted of a violation of this ordinance shall be punished by a fine of not more than $50.00.
Section 4: All ordinances and /or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict.
Section 5: It is found and declared by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, that there is great need to designate bus parking in certain areas so that the children who attend the MacArthur Middle School shall be able to safely load and unload from the business which park in front of the MacArthur Middle School and therefore, this ordinance being necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health and safety, an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this ordinance shall take effect form and after its passage and approval.
