AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING PAYMENT TO CITY WATER & LIGHT FOR MATERIALS USED IN WIRING THE SOUTHSIDE SOFTBALL COMPLEX WITH ELECTRICAL LIGHTING.

BE IT ORDAINED by the city council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas:

 

SECTION 1: The City Water & Light Plant, in the City of Jonesboro, has agreed to and is in the process of wiring the Southside Softball Complex with electrical lighting.

 

SECTION 2: The City Water & Light Plant has agreed to perform the work free of charge of labor, requesting payment for materials only.

 

SECTION 3: The cost of the materials is to be $11,866.00.

 

SECTION 4: In order to proceed further with such work, the City Water & Light Plant needs assurance that their expenses for materials will be reimbursed by the City.

 

SECTION 5: The City Council of the City of Jonesboro hereby authorizes the expenditure of up to $11,866.00 to come from the Parks and Recreation budget to be expended as reimbursement to City Water & Light for materials used in wiring the field.

 

SECTION 6: It is believed that the wiring of the Southside Ball Complex will be of benefit to the entire City, and that completion of the wiring may be unnecessarily delayed without prior approval for these expenses. For those reasons and since the softball and baseball season has already begun, an emergency is hereby delivered to exist and this Ordinance being necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health and safety of the citizens of Jonesboro, it shall take effect from and after its passage and approval.

 

PASSED AND ADOPTED this 18th day of May, 1992.
