AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND SECTION 5.16.06 OF THE JONESBORO CODE OF ORDINANCES INTERFERENCE WITH GARBAGE RECEPTACLES

WHEREAS, it is the desire of the City of Jonesboro to allow law enforcement officers I.E. state, local and federal officers to remove, injure, destroy or uncover and disturb any garbage receptacle while performing their duties as law enforcement officers.

 

NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, that:

 

SECTION 1: That previous ordinance 5.16.06 shall be amended to include the following sentence:

 

(A)  That any law enforcement officer, including state, local and federal officers are exempt from any and all of the regulations of this ordinance while performing their duties as law enforcement officers.

 

SECTION 2:  That there being an immediate need due to preservation of the health, safety and welfare of the citizens of Jonesboro an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this ordinance shall hereby take effect form and after its passage and approval.

 

PASSED AND ADOPTED the 21st day of October, 2002.
