AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO. 954, KNOWN AS THE ZONING ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR CHANGES IN ZONING BOUNDARIES AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of Jonesboro, Arkansas:

 

SECTION 1: Ordinance No. 954 known as the zoning ordinance of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, be amended as recommended by the Metropolitan Area Planning Commission by the changes in zoning classifications as follows:

 

From Residential (R-1) to Commercial (C-3) the following described property:

 

LEGAL DESCRIPTION:

Part of the Northwest quarter of the Southwest quarter of Section 10, Township 14 north, Range 3 east, Craighead County, Arkansas, being more particularly described as follows:

 

Begin at the southwest corner of the northwest quarter of the southwest quarter of section 10 township 14 North, Range 3 East,  Craighead County, Arkansas; thence North 712.0 feet to the South  right-of-way line of U.S. Highway # 63-B; Thence south 75°43' east along said south right-of-way line 651.9 feet to the point of beginning proper; thence continue south 75°43' east along said south right-of-way line 241.07 feet to the west right-of-way line of Myette street; thence south 0°01'42" west along said west right-of-way line 346.51 feet; thence south 89°06'42" west 231.57 feet; thence north 410.66 feet to the point of beginning proper, containing 2.03 acres.

 

SECTION 2: It is found and declared by the City Council that the proper use of the tract of land described above in this ordinance is being delayed because of improper zoning, and that, therefore, an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this ordinance, being necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health and safety, shall take effect and be in full force from and after its passage and approval.
