RESOLUTION FOR THE MAPC TO NEGOTIATE WITH THE OWNERS OF ANNEXED LAND AND RECOMMEND TO THE COUNCIL AREAS OF IMPROVEMENT

BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, that:

 

WHEREAS, land greatly increases in value when it is annexed to the City of Jonesboro, and whereas, fire and police protection are valuable to newly annexed land, and,

 

WHEREAS, from this date forward it shall be the policy of the City of Jonesboro to require subdivisions asking for annexation to improve partly or wholly, pre-existing streets and roads brought into the City as a result of said annexation, and that the Metropolitan Area Planning Commission shall negotiate with the owners of the land asking for annexation and recommended to the council of the City of Jonesboro the area of improvement and the specifications of the required improvements to said streets and roads.

 

PASSED and ADOPTED this 7th day of July, 1975.
