The Metropolitan Area Planning Commission met in regular session on Thursday, March 8, 1973 in the Court Room at City Hall to consider the following requests.
The meeting was called to order by the Chairman, Mr. Aubrey Scott. Mr. Junior Haggenmacher, a newly appointed commission member was recognized.
MEMBERS PRESENT: Scott, Adams, Morrison, Cooper, Roddy, and Haggenmacher.
MEMBERS ABSENT: Young, Matthews, and Mardis.
OTHERS PRESENT: Mr. Larry Fugate, Mr. Bill Bell, Mr. Joe Tomlinson, Mr. Gene Martz, and Mrs. Shirley Watkins.
Items for business were as follows:
Item #1. Cathedral Baptist Church requests a rezoning from R-1 to R-3. The property concerned is the Cathedral Baptist Church Addition located northwest off the intersection of Hwy. 39 and the Hwy. 63 Bypass. A motion was made by Mr. Morrison and seconded by Mr. Adams to TABLE the request for a period of thirty days. A vote was taken and the motion was passed unanimously.
Item #2. Ewell Thomas requests a rezoning of Lots 12, 13, 14, 15, and 16 of Block 6 of Wilson’s 2nd Addition to Jonesboro from R-2 to C-5. This property is located on the north side of Washington between Puryear and Gee Streets. A motion was made by Mr. Roddy and seconded by Mr. Morrison to APPROVE the request. A vote was taken and the motion was passed unanimously.
Item #3. Guy Pardew requests approval of a replat of Lots 2 and 3 of Block A of Twin Acres Addition to Jonesboro, Arkansas. This property is located on Magnolia Road between Mitzi Lane and Amy Ann Drive. A motion was made by Mr. Cooper and seconded by Mr. Adams to APPROVE the request. A vote was taken and the motion was passed unanimously.
Item #4. Mercantile Corporation requests approval of Brickell-Poling First Addition to Joensboro, Arkansas. This property is located on the northwest corner of Caraway Road and Wilkins Avenue. A motion was made by Mr. Adams and seconded...
