AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE 2007 ANNUAL BUDGET ORDINANCE FOR THE CITY OF JONESBORO PLANNING DEPARTMENT BY UPGRADING ONE FULL-TIME POSITION.

Body

WHEREAS, The City of Jonesboro Planning Department wishes to convert one full-time Planning Receptionist position (non-exempt pay grade 10, Step 2) to one full-time Planning Administrative Assistant (non-exempt pay grade 12, Step 2).

WHEREAS, the conversion of this full-time position is recommended by the Public Works Committee and the Finance Committee;

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL FOR THE CITY OF JONESBORO, ARKANSAS, that:

SECTION ONE: The 2007 annual budget for the City of Jonesboro, adopted as Ordinance 05-2007 on January 2, 2007 is amended to convert one full-time Planning Receptionist position (non-exempt pay grade 10, Step 2) to one full-time Planning Administrative Assistant position (non-exempt pay grade 12, Step 2).

SECTION TWO: It is anticipated that the 2007 annual budget for the City of Jonesboro Planning  Department, Full-Time Salaries line item 02-108-0201-00 will have a surplus of funds. Therefore, no transfer of funds will be needed for this position upgrade.

SECTION THREE: For the financial and operational continuity of the City of Jonesboro it is hereby found and declared that an emergency exists and that this ordinance shall take effect from and after its passage and approval.
