WHEREAS, Resolution 21:274 established a City of Jonesboro Equipment Depreciation Fund allowing for the purchase of vehicle fleet including three Police Package Chevrolet Tahoes, three Police Package Ford F-150's and one Chevrolet Tahoe for Administration; and

WHEREAS, Resolution 21:297 adopted the 2022 budget for City of Jonesboro including the purchase of three Police Package trucks with one of the three being included in this ordinance; and

WHEREAS, there are no available state bid priced Tahoe SUVs or Ford F-150 pickups in Arkansas due to a vehicle shortage; and

WHEREAS, it is unknown when these vehicle types will be available again due to supply disruptions and city staff has performed extensive research throughout the region to locate comparably priced vehicles to insure city funds are allocated efficiently.

WHEREAS, due to supply chain disruptions, there currently is no state bid established pricing for Chevrolet Tahoes. However, the included quotes are competitive with historic state bid pricing.

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JONESBORO, ARKANSAS THAT:

SECTION 1: The vehicles may be purchased from Dana Safety Supply, Inc. of Oklahoma City, OK for $49,708 each, for equipped Tahoe SUVs, $48,206 each, for equipped Ford F-150 pickups and from Superior Auto Group of Siloam Springs, AR for $43,358 for a Tahoe SUV for Administration.

SECTION 2: The City Council in accordance with the terms of A.C.A. Section 14-58-303 hereby waive the requirement of competitive bidding and direct the purchasing agent to purchase the above-described vehicles for the price set forth in Section 1 above.
