AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO. 2463, APPROVING THE METROPOLITAN AREA TRAFFIC AUTHORITY'S STREET AND HIGHWAY PLAN DATED JANUARY 14, 1992 WITH CERTAIN CONDITIONS, ALONG WITH THE RECOMMENDATIONS AS PRESENTED BY THE MATA IMPLEMENTATION COMMITTEE ON DECEMBER 5, 1994.

BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas:    

 

SECTION 1: The City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, hereby adopts the Metropolitan Area Traffic Authority's  Street and Highway Planning Study as prepared by Garver and Garver Engineers with the conditions an noted below:

 

SECTION 2: ACCEPTANCE IS BASED ON:

DELETION OF:

-Washington/Matthews One-Way Couplet

-Madison/Church One Way Couplet                

-Kitchen Street Recommendations

 

REEVALUATION OF THE FOLLOWING:

-Priorities (E.G. Traffic Signals)

-East Matthews/Stadium Blvd Exchange

-Function of Johnson Ave

-Stadium Boulevard/Caraway Road

-Proposed Street Widths in West Jonesboro

-Central Business District

-Thomas Green Road

-Nettleton Avenue (West Of Caraway)

-Nettleton Avenue (Highland Of Industrial)

 

SECTION 3: The City Council hereby adopts as a part of the overall Street and Highway Planning Study the recommendations of the Metropolitan Area Traffic Authority Implementation Committee as prepared by Ernie Peters, Traffic Engineer

 

SECTION 4: This Ordinance, being necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health and safety, there is hereby declared to be an emergency and this Ordinance shall take effect and be in full force from and after its passage and approval.
