Minutes for the recessed City Council meeting on August 22, 1968

The City Council met in a recessed session in City Hall, Thursday night, at 6:30 p.m. There were present: Mayor, City Attorney, City Clerk and the following named Councilmen: Pierce, Turner, Bowers, Darling, Pardew, Copeland, Johnson and Knight. Absent: Ledbetter, Minx, Young and Stricklin.
The bids were opened to blacktop a block on Jefferson and Bittle Street.
P&H bid for Jefferson $3,625.10 for Bittle $3,025.00
Barnett Construction $3,231.10 for Bittle $2,699.40
After discussion, Mr. Darling moved with Mr. Pardew seconding the motion that P&H have the Bittle Street job and Barnett the Jefferson job. On calling the roll, all members present voted aye and the motion carried.
There being no further business, Council voted unanimously to adjourn.
