RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO CONTRACT WITH TROY L. SHEETS SURVEYING FOR THE LOCATION AND DESCRIPTION OF RIGHTS-OF-WAY

WHEREAS, the City, of Jonesboro, Arkansas, desires to construct drainage improvements on 6.1 miles of channel on Whiteman's Creek from mile 4.51 to 6.01, Turtle Creek from mile 0.00 to 0.93, Higginbottom Creek from mile 0.00 to 2.95 and Moore's Ditch from mile 0.00 to 0.72; and
WHEREAS, rights-of-way and/or easements are required to construct said drainage improvements; and
WHEREAS, professional surveying services are required to accurately locate and describe said rights-of-way and/or easements; and
WHEREAS, Troy L. Sheets Surveying, 205 Warner Avenue, Jonesboro, AR 72403-1672 has the professional staff to perform said services and has agreed to contract same under terms and conditions as set forth in the attached Exhibit "A" hereto and incorporated herein by reference.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, that the Mayor of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas is hereby authorized to contract with Troy L. Sheets Surveying for the location and description of said rights-of-way and/or easements for the proposed drainage improvements on the said sections of creeks under the terms and conditions as set forth in Exhibit "A" hereto.
