CITY COUNCIL MINUTES - FEBRUARY 2, 2004

The Jonesboro City Council selected Councilman Dave Young to conduct the council meeting in the absence of Mayor Brodell and President Pro Temp Harold Perrin as required by the City Council Rules and Regulations adopted by Ordinance No. 3394 on January 6, 2003.

The Jonesboro City Council met Monday, February 2, 2004, at 6:30 p.m. A full quorum was in attendance. Present were: City Clerk, Donna K. Jackson, City Attorney Phillip Crego and eleven council members. Those members were: Farmer, Province, Hargis, Moore, Williams, Street, Young, Dover, Furr, McCall, and Roddy. Mayor Brodell and Councilman Harold Perrin were unable to attend.

Councilman Moore moved, seconded by Councilman Roddy to approve the minutes of January 20, 2004, as delivered. A voice vote was taken resulting in all members voting aye. Those members were: Farmer, Province, Hargis, Moore, Williams, Street, Young, Dover, Furr, McCall, and Roddy.

Councilman Young presented certified copies of a resolution to family members of Code Enforcement Officer Doug Little, recognizing his more than 13 years of service to the City of Jonesboro until his passing, January 8, 2004.

Councilman Dover offered the following ordinance for the first reading:

ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE PAYMENT OF COMPENSATORY TIME TO EMPLOYEES FOR THE PURPOSE OF LIMITING THE ACCUMULATION OF COMPENSATORY TIME TO A MAXIMUM OF 40 HOURS

Councilman Farmer moved, seconded by Councilman Moore to suspend with the second and third readings. A voice vote was taken resulting in all members voting aye. Those members were: Farmer, Province, Hargis, Moore, Williams, Street, Young, Dover, Furr, McCall, and Roddy. Councilman Street moved, seconded by Councilman Moore for the adoption of the ordinance.
