AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO. 954 KNOWN AS THE ZONING ORDINANCE FOR THE CITY OF JONESBORO, ARKANSAS BY PROVIDING CHANGES IN ZONING BOUNDARIES AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES

BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas:

 

Section 1: That Ordinance No. 954 known as the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, be amended as recommended by the Metropolitan Area Planning Commission by a change in the zoning classification as follows: From Residential (R-1) to Residential (R-2) of the following described property:

 

A part of the SE ¼ of the NE ¼ of Section 20, T14N, R4E, more particularly described as follows: Begin at the Southeast corner of the SE ¼ of the NE ¼ of said Section 20, thence N89 degrees 31’ West 970’ to the point of beginning proper; thence N1 degree 18’ E 600’; thence S89 degrees 31’ E 328’ thence N1 degree 18’ E 721.9’ to the North line of said SE ¼ of the NE ¼, thence N89 degrees 42’ W along said line 490’; more or less, to a point which is S89 degrees 42’ E 180’ from the Northwest corner of the SE ¼ of the NE ¼ thence S1 degree 18’ W 1320’, more or less, to the South lien of said SE ¼ of the E ¼, which point is S89 degrees 31’ E 180’ from the Southeast corner of said SE ¼; of the NE ¼; thence S89 degrees 31’ E 170’, more or less, to the point of beginning proper containing 10.46 acres, more or less and being subject to Nettleton Avenue right-of-way across the South side thereof.

 

Section 2: It is found and declared by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro that the proper use of the tract of land described in this Ordinance is being delayed because of improper coning, and that, therefore, an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this Ordinance being necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health and safety, it shall take effects and be in full force from and after its passage.
