AN ORDINANCE FIXING THE SALARY AND PRESCRIBING THE DUTIES OF THE CITY TREASURER OF THE CITY OF JONESBORO, ARKANSAS, DECLARING AN EMERGENCY AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES

BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro. Arkansas:
SECTION 1: That from and after the date of January 1, 1958, the salary of the City Treasurer of Jonesboro, Arkansas shall be $1,200 per year payable in monthly installments of $100 per month.
SECTION 2: The City Treasurer shall at all times keep such books, ledgers and journals as being necessary to keep a full and accurate record of the financial condition of all departments of the City, and from such books and records shall prepare and submit monthly to the city council a written full report and detail statement of the financial condition of the City of Jonesboro showing receipts, disbursements, and balance on hand.
SECTION 3: If said City Treasurer shall willfully and knowingly fail, refuse or neglect to faithfully perform the duties provided herein and to keep the necessary books provided for herein, or to make a written monthly report provided for herein to the city council, then and in either of such events he shall be deemed guilty of non-feasance in office; and it shall be the duty of the city council to bring such non-feasance in office to a hearing before the council, and if upon hearing the charges be found to be true said City Treasurer shall be removed from office upon a majority vote of such council.
SECTION 4: All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed.
SECTION 5: This ordinance shall take effect from and after the date of the next term or the office of City Treasurer which begins January 1, 1958.
