A RESOLUTION BY THE JONESBORO CITY COUNCIL TO WAIVE COMPETITIVE BIDDING AND AUTHORIZE THE PURCHASE OF TWIST MOUNTED LIGHT POLES FOR THE WALKING TRAIL AT CRAIGHEAD FOREST PARK

WHEREAS, The Parks Department desires to purchase twist mounted poles for the light poles to be installed along the walking path at Craighead Forest Park; and
WHEREAS, Twist mounted poles would allow for a lower project cost and faster installation without a sacrifice in utility or appearance; and
WHEREAS, The Parks Department has only been successful with generating interest from 2 venders for quotes for the purchase of 232 twist mounted poles and believe a formal bid process would not be feasible; and
WHEREAS, the cost is 513.98 per twist mounted poles (Product Total 119,243.36) plus Shipping and Sales Tax; and
WHEREAS, funding for the above described purchase was authorized in the City of Jonesboro FY23 budget.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JONESBORO, ARKANSAS THAT:
SECTION 1: The City Council in accordance with the terms of A.C.A. Section 14-58-303 hereby waive the requirement of competitive bidding and direct the purchasing agent to purchase 232 twist mounted light poles, from Techline Inc, for $513.98 per pole (Product Total 119,243.36) plus Shipping and Sales Tax.
