A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF JONESBORO, ARKANSAS APPROVING A CONTRACT AGREEMENT WITH THE STATE OF ARKANSAS, DEPARTMENT OF PARKS & TOURISM, PROJECT NO. A-10456-05-CG, FOR CONSTRUCTION OF BALL FIELDS AT JOE MACK CAMPBELL PARK

WHEREAS, the City of Jonesboro owns and maintains Joe Mack Campbell park located at 3021 Dan Avenue, Jonesboro, Arkansas, AND
WHEREAS, Resolution 2004:65 was adopted by the City Council on August 16, 2004 authorizing the Mayor to make application to the Arkansas Department of Parks & Tourism for assistance to develop recreational facilities at Joe Mack Campbell Park; AND
WHEREAS, the City of Jonesboro has been approved for a 50/50 Matching Grant in the amount of $200,000 to construct ball fields and other amenities at Joe Mack Campbell Park; AND
WHEREAS, funds to pay the City's $100,000 matching portion of this grant are included in the 2005 Budget in General Ledger Account #742 and Account #741, which are the baseball and soccer donation accounts.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JONESBORO, ARKANSAS THAT:
SECTION 1. The City of Jonesboro accepts the Contract Agreement for State Project No. A-10456-05-CG with the Arkansas Department of Parks & Tourism for the construction of ball fields and other amenities at Joe Mack Campbell Park.
SECTION 2. The Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized to execute all documents necessary to effectuate this agreement.
