AN ORDINANCE ANNEXING A PART OF THE WEST HALF OF THE NORTHEAST QUARTER OF THE SOUTHEAST QUARTER OF SECTION 16, TOWNSHIP 14 NORTH RANGE 4 EAST, AND A PART OF THE WEST HALF OF THE SOUTHEAST QUARTER OF THE NORTHEAST QUARTER OF SECTION 16, TOWNSHIP 14 NORTH, RANGE 4 EAST, IN CRAIGHEAD COUNTY, ARKANSAS, TO THE CITY OF JONESBORO, ARKANSAS

It having been determined by the County Court of Craighead County, Arkansas, after due notice and according to the provisions of law to enter an order of annexation dated April 4, 1962, making the lands described as follows, to-wit:
A part of the West Half of the Northeast Quarter of the Southeast Quarter of Section 16, Township 14 North, Range 4 East, and a Part of the West Half of the Southeast Quarter of the Northeast Quarter of Section 16, Township 14 North, Range 4 East, in Craighead County, Arkansas, a part of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, and it being found that said territory should be accepted into and made a part of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas;
IT IS THEREFORE ORDAINED, that the above described lands are hereby accepted and made a part of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, and annexed thereto, and the persons residing therein shall have and enjoy all rights and privileges of the inhabitants within the original limits of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, and said territory is assigned to Ward 1 and 2.
This Ordinance being necessary for the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas and the Property Owners in said territory to be entitled to fire, police and sanitary protection and benefits, an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this Ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
PASSED and ADOPTED this 20th day of August, 1962.
