AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO. 954, KNOWN AS THE ZONING ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR CHANGES IN ZONING BOUNDARIES AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of Jonesboro, Arkansas:
SECTION 1: Ordinance No. 954 known as the zoning ordinance of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, be amended as recommended by the Metropolitan Area Planning Commission by the changes in zoning classifications as follows:
From Residential (R-1) to Commercial (C-3) the following described property:
LEGAL DESCRIPTION:
A part of the Southeast 1/4, Southeast 1/4 of Section 35, Township 14 North, Range 3 East, Jonesboro, Craighead County, Arkansas, being more particularly described as follows: begin at the Southwest Corner of the Southeast 1/4 Southeast 1/4 of aforesaid Section 35; thence S90°00'E on the Section Line 698.79' to the point of beginning proper; thence N21°08'E - 467.22'; thence S89°38'E - 133.69' to the Westerly Right Of Way Line of U.S. Hwy. 49 (Southwest Drive); thence S21°08'W along said Right Of Way line 466.30' to the Section Line; thence N90°00'W on the Section Line 134.01' to the point of beginning proper, containing 1.34 acres, more or less, subject to all right of way and easements or record.
SECTION 2: It is found and declared by the City Council that the proper use of the tract(s) of land described above in this ordinance is being delayed because of improper zoning, and that, therefore, an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this ordinance, being necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health and safety, shall take effect and be in full force from and after its passage and approval.
