AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO.954, KNOWN AS THE ZONING ORDINANCE, PROVIDING FOR CHANGES IN ZONING BOUNDARIES AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES

BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas:

 

Section 1: That Ordinance No.954, known as the Zoning Ordinance for the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, be amended as recommended by the Metropolitan Area Planning Commission by the changes in zoning classifications as follows: From Commercial (C-3) to Residential (R-2) of the following described property lying in Craighead County, Arkansas, to-wit: (Roach and Brodell)

 

Begin at the Northeast corner of Lot 28 of Cobb and Lee Survey of the Southwest Quarter of Section 17, Township 14 North, Range 4 East; thence South on the East line of said Lot 28, 359.45 feet to the Southeast corner of said Lot 28; thence South 89°02’ West on the South line of Lots 28, 27 and 23 of Cobb and Lee Survey of the Southwest quarter aforesaid 740.2 feet to the point of beginning proper; thence continue South 89°West along said South line of Lots 28, 27 and 23 for 120 feet; thence North 0°08’ East 170.84 feet; thence South 89°41’ West 192.16 feet; thence North 0°02’ West 66.1 feet; thence North 89°41’ East 312.3 feet: thence South 0°08’ West 235.6 feet to the point of beginning proper, containing 0.94 acres and being subjects to and contingent upon easements for ingress and egress.

 

Section 2: It is found and declared by the City Council for the City of Jonesboro. Arkansas that the proper use of the tract of land described above is being delayed because of improper zoning, and that, therefore, an emergency is hereby declared to exist, and this Ordinance being necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health and safety, it shall take effect and be in full force from and after its passage and approval.
