AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE 954, KNOWN AS THE ZONING ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR CHANGES IN ZONING BOUNDARIES AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

BE IT ORDAINED   by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas:

 

SECTION 1: That Ordinance No. 954 known as the zoning ordinance of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, be amended as recommended by the Metropolitan Area Planning Commission (RZ91-8 by the changes in zoning classifications as follows:

 

From Residential (R-1) to Commercial (C-3) the following described property:

 

A part of the south ½ of the Southeast Quarter of Section 33, T14N, R4E, Craighead  County,  Arkansas  more  particularly  described  as  follows: Commencing at the southwest corner of the SE 1/4 of Section 33, T14N, R4E; thence North 00°24' W along the half section line 660.2 feet to the point of beginning; thence continue N00°24'W along the half section line 333.1 feet; thence North 88°18' E 1231.3 feet to the southwesterly bank of a ditch; thence along said bank of ditch as follows: South 20°26'E 112.9 feet, south 30°08' E 211.7 feet, south 37°29' E 49.3 feet; thence South 88° 18' W 1404.7 feet to the point of beginning, containing 10.0 acres and being subject to a 10 foot Utility easement as shown hereon, less and except a road easement (0.41 acres) as shown hereon, also known as Lot 1 of Dale Williams Subdivision)

 

SECTION 2: It is found and declared by the City Council that the proper use of the tract (s) of land described above in this ordinance is being delayed because of improper zoning, and that, therefore, an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this ordinance, being necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health and safety, shall take effect and be in full force from and after its passage and approval.
