 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 3600 FOR THE PURPOSE OF ADDING THE POSITION OF SENIOR INSPECTOR IN THE INSPECTION DEPARTMENT TO THE 2006 BUDGET

WHEREAS, it has been identified that the effectiveness, efficiency, and economy of operations in the department can best be realized by the addition to the budget the position of Senior Inspector;

WHEREAS, this addition has been recommended by the Mayor, the Public Works Committee, and the Finance Committee;

NOW THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council for the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, that:   

SECTION 1: In order to enhance the operations of the Inspection Department, the position of Senior Inspector, Grade 16 in the City Pay Plan, is hereby added to the 2006 budget with the addition of no new personnel.

SECTION 2: There are sufficient funds in the budget therefore no additional money will be appropriated. 

SECTION 3: Since the employee has been operating in this position since September 1, 2006, the promotional increase shall be effective September 1, 2006.

SECTION 4: This ordinance being necessary to immediately upgrade the efficiency of the Inspection Department, an emergency is declared to exist and this ordinance shall take effect from and after its passage and approval.
