RESOLUTION BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JONESBORO, ARKANSAS EXPRESSING THE WILLINGNESS TO UTILIZE FEDERAL-AID MONIES FOR AN ORIGIN AND DESTINATION STUDY

WHEREAS, the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2004 included Section 155 Designated funds for Transportation and Drainage Planning in the Jonesboro area.
WHEREAS, the City proposes to utilize this funding to perform an origin and destination study in the southwest Jonesboro area.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JONESBORO, ARKANSAS, THAT:
Section 1: The City will participate in accordance with its designated responsibilities in this project.
Section 2: The Mayor, or his designee, is hereby authorized and directed to execute all appropriate agreements and contracts necessary to expedite the implementation of this project.
Section 3: The City pledges its full support and hereby authorizes the Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department to initiate action to implement this project.
