AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO. 954, KNOWN AS THE ZONING ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR CHANGES IN ZONING BOUNDARIES AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES

BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas:

 

Section 1: That Ordinance No. 954, known as the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Jonesboro, to be amended as recommended by the Metropolitan Area Planning Commission by the changes in zoning district boundaries as follows: From Residential (R-1) to Commercial (C-3) the following described property:

 

(a) A part of the Southeast Quarter of the Southwest Quarter of Section 21, Township 14 North, Range 4 East, being more particularly described as follows: Commencing at the Northeast Corner of the Southeast Quarter of the Southwest Quarter of Section 21; thence South 89°30’ West 667.0 feet to the point of beginning proper; thence South 328 feet; thence South 89°30’ West 454 feet; thence North 328 feet to the South line of Forest Home Avenue; thence North 89°30’ East 454.0 feet along said South line of Forest Home Avenue to the point of beginning proper and containing 3.4 acres more or less.

 

(b) From Residential (R-1) to Residential (R-2) the following described property:

Lot 6, Block “A”, Spence Subdivision of a part of the Northeast Quarter of the Southeast Quarter of Section 29, Township 14 North, Range 4 East. This property is subject to the following stipulation: Dedication of a 41 foot right-of-way from the center line of Race Street.

 

Section 2: It is found and declared by the City Council that the proper use of the tracts of land described in this Ordinance is being delayed because of improper zoning, and that, therefore, an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this Ordinance being necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health and safety, shall take effects and be in full force from and after its passage and approval.
