The Metropolitan Area Planning Commission met on Thursday, September 11, 1969 at 7:30 P.M. in the City Hall.
MEMBERS PRESENT: Falls, Jarrett, Kenward, Lane, Melton, King, and Brooks Griffith.
The meeting was called to order by Chairman Clay Kenward.
August 14, 1969 minutes were read and approved.
Items for business were as follows:
Item #1. Plat for Baker Addition Jonesboro, Arkansas. A motion was made by Mr. Falls not to approve the plat. Motion was seconded by Mr. Melton. Motion carried.
Item #2. Request for Mrs. Dubert Henary to build a home beside and adjoining her Flower Shop. Mrs. Henary came before the commission to state her reason for this: She wants to be closer to her work. A motion was made by Mr. Lane to delay any action until consulting with City Attorney Mooney. Motion was seconded by Mr. King. Motion carried.
Item #3. Plat of Kirkview Addition to Jonesboro, Arkansas. A motion was made by Mr. Lane to give preliminary approval subject to changing the street to 60 feet wide with a 30 foot dedication on the South Side. Motion was seconded by Mr. Falls. Motion carried.
Item #4. Play of South Haven Subdivision Jonesboro, Arkansas. Motion was made by Mr. Lane to give preliminary approval subject to a 41 foot dedication off of Caraway Road and a building set back of 60 feet off the center line of Hwy. 1. Motion seconded by Mr. Falls. Motion carried.
Item #5. West Park Estates-A motion was made by Mr. Falls to give preliminary approval subject to the granting of 20 feet additional right-of-way on Cherry Avenue. Motion died.
A motion was made by Mr. Lane to approve the West Park Estates as it was. Motion was seconded by Mr. King. Motion carried with Mr. Falls opposed.
Item #6. Caraway Acres Sub-Division Jonesboro, Arkansas. A motion was made to approve the subdivision by Mr. King. Motion was seconded by Mr. Lane. Motion carried.
